USA Hockey Selects Nine Former Polar Bears for Olympic Camp

USA Hockey announced that nine former Polar Bears will be among the forty three skaters who have been selected to participate in the 2001 USA Hockey Women's National Team Festival to be held August 13-22 in Lake Placid , NY. The Festival competition will lead to the selection of the 2002 US Women's Olympic Team. Polar Bears participating are:

Another record number of Bears Selected for USA Hockey’s Girls’ Developmental Camp

Twenty of the younger Polar Bears have been selected to participate in the USA Hockey Girls’ Developmental Camp held in Burlington, VT this summer. This Camp provides training and a competitive atmosphere to develop players with the potential to attend the Lake Placid Camp.

The player are: Sarah Appleton, Jennie Bellonio, Caroline Bourdeau, Jessica Cofrancesco, Lauren Cunningham, Kiira Dosdall, Kristin Emerick, Emily Eshenfelder, Maggie Kennedy, Kathryn Kroleski, Leigh Mamrosh, Liezel McLean-Shinamon, Carolin Murphy, Kathryn O'Connor, Chelsea Spensley, Ryan Turbert, Gina Valles, Katie Vaughn, Sarah Wilson, and Becky Zavisza.

The Polar Bears would like to congratulate all of the present and former players for their outstanding achievements. These fine young women serve as examples of what Polar Bears for years to come can achieve through persistence and hard work.
