First, our Graduates Our 2004 Graduates continued to show success in the classroom as well as on the ice. They will attend the following schools. Emilie
Bydwell Brown University National Champions The
19U Team won the National Championship Tournament played in Rochester, NY from
March 30—April 4, 2004, beating Assabet Valley, MA 4-0 in the Final. The team also extended the streak of consecutive Final Four appearances to nine. During the streak, the team has won four National Championships, and won two Silver Medals and three Bronze Medals. In
eighteen years of competition at the 19U level, the Polar Bears have reached the
Final Four fifteen times. Alumni Kazmzeier Award Angela
Ruggiero (Harvard University) received 2004 Kazmzeier Award, the most
prestigious award made to collegiate female hockey players. Angela
is the second Polar Bear to receive the Kazmzeier Award. A. J. Mleczko (Harvard)
received the award in 1999. 2004 U. S. National Team Ruggiero,
Julie Chu (Harvard), and Kim Insalaco (Brown) were named to the U. S. National
Team for the World Tournament played in Halifax in April
2004. Canada won the Final 2-0. 2004 Canadian National Team Sarah
Vaillancourt, a member of the 2004 19U Team, was named to the Canadian National
Team for the World Tournament. 2004 Ivy League Rookie of the Year Kim
Pearce (Princeton) was named Rookie of the Year in the Ivy League. She was also
named to the All Ivy Rookie Team. Eight Polar Bears named to the 2004 National Festival Team. Alana Bremiller-Dartmouth; Julie Chu-Harvard; Jamie

Insalaco-Brown; Gen Richardson-Boston College; Angela Ruggiero-Harvard; Jessica
Tabb-Providence; and Becky Zavisza-Berkshire School-19U Team. Eight Polar Bears play in 2004 Frozen Four The Bears were represented by eight players at the Frozen Four. Alana Bremiller, Kirsti Anderson, and Caroline Ethier played for Dartmouth;Angela Ruggiero, Julie Chu, Jennifer Skinner, Kat Sweet, and Emily Vitt played for Harvard. |
