2020-2021 U14 Team Information
- We will field a U14 team playing a Tier I schedule
- Open to birth years 2006 to 2008
- Team will be selected solely based upon player skill level
- Season will begin in early June with the Vault program; see below for tournament schedule
- The coaching will focus on player development through high-level training and competition
- Players will gain first-hand exposure to prep school coaches
Vault Summer Training Program
The season begins in early June with the 5th Annual Vault Summer Training Program. Over a three month period, players will receive more than 100 hours of on-ice skills training. The Vault focuses on individual skills development, small games, and game situational training. All sessions are led by former and current female college players. The 2020 Vault coaching staff includes 13 current and former female NCAA Division I and III players. The tentative Vault 2020 schedule is below. Sessions will take place at the Milford Ice Pavilion. Vault Prep School Exposure Series
Throughout the course of the summer, players will participate in the Vault Prep School Exposure Series in which various sessions are led by New England Prep School coaches. 2019 featured sessions with coaches from 8 different schools:

Regular Season Practices & Games Structure
Janice Yang, the U14-1 Head Coach, will lead 2 regular weekday practices for both U14 teams. Each practice is scheduled for one hour and fifteen minutes. Practices will build on the skills development initiated at the Vault. The teams will skate on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Milford Ice Pavilion.
Both teams will play approximately 45-50 games over the course of the season. On weekends, when the teams are not participating in a tournament, the teams will practice and play home games at Wesleyan University or Trinity College. Additional away games will generally be scheduled in Connecticut.
We intend to participate in the following tournaments and showcases:

Coaching Staff:
U14-1 Head Coach: Janice Yang
Most recently completed a four-year career at Brown University (ECAC) where she led the team in goals her junior year and was tied for second in assists her senior year. Earned ECAC All-Academic honors in 2014 and 2015.
Before matriculating to Brown, Yang competed for Choate Rosemary Hall and the Connecticut Polar Bears.
She helped her Polar Bear teams to multiple silver and bronze medal finishes at the National Championships. A two-time New England Founder’s League Champion with Choate, Yang was also selected as a NEPSAC First Team All-Star her senior year. She was a four-year USA Hockey national camp participant.
Yang is entering her sixth year as a coach with the Polar Bears.
